Kim Min-jae (27) is the main poster for Bayern Munich’s team presentation event.
On Tuesday (July 20), Bayern Munich announced on social media and other official channels that Kim Min-jae will be the main poster for the “Allianz FC Bayern Team Presentation 2023-2024” event, which will be held on July 23 at 1 p.m. local time at the Allianz Arena.
The team presentation is one of the most important official events for Bayern Munich to publicly announce how they are preparing for the season each year. It’s a sort of kickoff ceremony. Minjae Kim headlined the poster announcing the event.
The event is attended by many Munich legends. After an exhibition match, the members of the first team for the 2023-2024 season will be introduced. Most importantly, it will be the official introduction of the new faces.
The Bavarians have signed Konrad Reimer and Japhael Geheiro ahead of the season. Among them, Kim Min-jae is the most anticipated.
On June 19, Munich officially announced that they had “signed Kim Min-jae until June 2028.” The club did not disclose details about the player, who will wear the number 3 shirt. Local media have estimated his annual salary at €12 million ($17.1 billion).
Munich paid Napoli a buyout clause of €50 million (approximately KRW 71.3 billion). This is the highest transfer fee in Asia, according to European statistics firm TransferMarkt. It surpasses the €35 million (approx. KRW 497 million) paid by Shoya Nakajima (Japan) for his move from Portimonense (Portugal) to Al Duhail (Qatar) in 2019.
Munich’s €50 million fee for Kim Min-jae also ranks third on the club’s all-time list. It was also the fourth-highest transfer fee ever for his former club Napoli.
The Bavarians were serious about signing Kim this summer. Unusually, they held a medical in South Korea. This was in consideration of the fact that he had just been released from basic military training after three weeks.
They even gave him a pair of lederhosen (traditional leather pants from the German state of Bavaria, where Bayern Munich is based) with the initials “KMJ” on them. He was the only one of Munich’s summer signings to receive a lederhosen.
Kim also received an affectionate welcome from Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel is usually known for his sharp demeanor, but as soon as he saw Kim, he hugged him and stroked his face.
When Tuchel met Kim, he said, “It’s great to see you. I’m really happy to see you. I’m so happy for you. You’re going to do really well. I’m sure.” He greeted him affectionately. Kim Min-jae was embarrassed by Tuchel’s affectionate gesture. 파워볼사이트
