Grand Korea Leisure (GKL), a South Korean casino operator, said Friday that it posted solid sales in November. Grand Korea Leisure said its casino sales rose 14.5 percent year-on-year to about 41.58 billion won this month.

On a month-over-month basis, casino sales rose 15.2% in November compared with October.
The year-on-year increase in casino sales saw table game sales rise 19.7 percent in the month of November to nearly 36.9 billion won. Machine game sales also rose 14.7 percent year-on-year to about 4.68 billion won, it said in a filing with the Korea Exchange.
GKL is a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Korea. The casino operator, under the Seven Luck brand, runs three foreigner-only casinos in Korea, two in the capital city of Seoul and one in the southern port city of Busan.
The company said casino sales edged up 0.4% year-on-year to about 446.35 billion won in the first 11 months of 2018.
From January to November, table game sales rose 2.8 percent year-on-year to about W394.18 billion. In the 11 months to Nov. 30, machine game sales fell 14.8 percent to about W52.17 billion.
The casino operator posted a 21.0% year-over-year drop in third-quarter net profit to about 26.37 billion won. The company did not give a reason for the sharp increase in quarterly earnings.
