
Bae Ji-hwan’s Major League Baseball (MLB) Pittsburgh Pirates have won all four games of their opening four-game series against the Miami Marlins on the road.
Pittsburgh won 9-7 in extra innings on Monday (June 1) at Lawndipo Park in Miami, Florida, at MLB Miami 2024.
The win was Pittsburgh’s fourth straight to open the season. It’s the first time in 121 years since 1903 that the Pirates have won all four of their opening games on the road.
Down five runs in the top of the first inning, 스포츠토토 Pittsburgh rallied for three runs in the second and one in the fourth to pull within one, and with runners on first and second in the top of the seventh, Rowdy Tellez hit a three-run shot over the center field wall to make it 7-6.
With a one-run lead, Pittsburgh was forced into extra innings when David Bednar gave up a tying solo home run to Nick Gordon in the bottom of the ninth.
But in the top of the 10th, Jason Delay’s squeeze bunt with runners on first and third gave the Pirates the lead for good, and Michael A. Taylor’s push bunt with two outs gave them a 9-7 lead.
Hunter Stratton pitched one scoreless inning in the bottom of the 10th to preserve the win for Pittsburgh.
Meanwhile, Bae Ji-hwan, who suffered a hip injury during an exhibition game last month, began the season on the 10-day disabled list after failing to make the opening day roster.
