Kim’s 10th homer of the season, second straight year of double-digit home runs
San Diego’s Ha-Sung Kim has hit five home runs in his last 10 games, marking the second consecutive year he has reached double digits in home runs. In a road game against Cincinnati, Kim started at second base in the leadoff spot and went 1-for-3 with a home run, one RBI, and one walk. Trailing 0-2 in the eighth inning, Kim hit his 10th solo home run of the season off Reds starter Andrew Abbott. With 10 home runs and 13 stolen bases before the end of the first half, Kim can now look forward to becoming the first Asian infielder in the big leagues to join the 20-20 club.
