At a special ceremony at the Tioga Downs Casino Resort last week, the Tioga Downs Community Foundation announced the recipients of numerous donations. The event was held on November 29, 2022, with over $1.1 million in grants awarded to a total of 54 nonprofit organizations in different sectors of the region.
The recipients of the grant were non-profit organizations in Broome, Tioga, Chemung and Bradford Counties. These groups were art, family service providers, animal rescue, etc. Through these donations, all organizations have been recognized and rewarded for providing and promoting economic and community development in the county surrounding Tioga.
At the event, Jeffrey Gural, owner of the Tioga Downs casino resort, said he was surprised to have respect for the groups that keep the community together.
