Russia’s Far East Maritime Province gambling region welcomed more than 146,000 visitors in the first three months of 2023, local authorities said. The Maritime Region JSC Development Corporation said on its official website that the figure was up 36.0% year-on-year.
The number of visitors increased by 24.6% compared to October-December 2022.
The quarterly figure represents an average of about 48,690 monthly visitors during the first quarter of 2023, marking the highest monthly tally recorded in March (total of 53,322 arrivals).
About 11% of visitors to the Primorsky Krai gambling center in the first quarter were identified as foreign tourists, mainly in Uzbekistan (3,783 arrivals) and China (2,859). Other major foreign tourist supply markets include Japan, India and Vietnam.
There are currently two casino resorts in the gambling area of Primorsky Krai, a casino development area 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Russia’s Pacific port of Vladivostok. The Tigre de Crystal property is mostly owned by Summit Ascent Holdings, a Hong Kong-listed company controlled by LET Group Holdings. The Shambala Casino Resort, run by a company called Shambala CJSC, was the second casino to open there.
The Primorsky Krai gambling area recorded more than 463,000 visitors last year, local authorities said.
