Twenty-win ace Erik Peddie (Chicago White Sox) has completed his major league comeback.
Peddie started a home game against the Detroit Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits (two homers) and one walk while striking out seven in 4⅔ innings.
After giving up a leadoff single to Carpenter with two outs in the first inning, Peddy retired Kanha and Keith in order in the second, flied out to shortstop and gave up a single to right-center to Aschella. Baez flied out to right field to end the inning.
After retiring Rogers, Meadows and Torkelson in order in the third inning, Pedi gave up his first run of the game in the fourth. A leadoff single to Carpenter and a walk to Keith put runners on first and second with no outs, but a double by Kanha and a groundout by Aschella and Baez prevented any further damage.
Peddie led off the fifth inning with a solo shot to left field off Rogers on a full count.
He then retired Meadows and Torkelson on consecutive pitches. 안전놀이터 추천 With the bases loaded, the White Sox bench sent Banks to the mound in place of Peddie.
Peddy, meanwhile, was NC’s ace last year, going 20-6 with a 2.00 ERA and 209 strikeouts, ranking first in three categories: wins, ERA and strikeouts.
The 20-win, 200-strikeout season was the first in 37 years since Sun Dong-ryeol of the 1986 HaeTae Tigers. He was also honored as the fourth pitcher in KBO history to win the Triple Crown, joining Sun Dong-ryeol, Hanwha’s Ryu Hyun-jin, and Kia’s Yoon Seok-min.
After dominating the KBO by winning the regular season MVP and the Golden Glove for pitching, Pedi returned to the big leagues by signing a two-year, $15 million contract with the Chicago White Sox.
